A Lovely Langdale Weekend

langdale lake district

Langdale should be your destination this weekend. What better place to either visit or stay at any time of the year but even more so in early summer, when the weather forecast is for dry weather and the Langdale Gala is taking place.

Any visitors having experienced walking, staying or walking in the Langdale Valley will know how beautiful it is. A lovely community, fantastic scenery, great places to eat, drink and sleep etc etc. This weekend happens to be the much and always fondly anticipated Langdale Gala. “For the community, by the community” yet everyone is invited and as mentioned previously, with the weather forecast as good as it is, the Langdale Gala is due to be one of the best and busiest to date.

This one day event held on Sunday 2nd July 2017 has events for the whole family including a fancy dress parade, pet show, children’s races, fell races and traditional Cumbrian wrestling, tugs of war and raffles. There will also be food stalls from local suppliers both for delicious things to purchase and take home as well as devour on the day.

The Gala actually starts in another guise on Saturday evening with a Kids Disco. Most definitely fun for the whole family though with juice and crisps for the kids and adults can BYOB so everyone will enjoy busting some moves! As last year, it is expected to be the perfect start to the Gala weekend!

If you really want to make a weekend out of it then the Langdale Estate has tempting late deals for short breaks and full week holidays in a select number of self catering accommodation. They also have a few rooms remaining in the Langdale Hotel. Visit the Langdale Estate website here to check availability
